Super Sapiens: A Card Game to Help Change The World
Super Sapiens is the perfect pocket-sized game which can be played 3 ways: Snap, Memory, and Super Guess? The game is a great way to have fun with kids while aiding discussion on some of the difficult realities of our world and encouraging the next generation to help change our world through kindness, inclusion, antiracism, environmental justice, and taking informed action!
We also have free downloadable resources for schools (posters, print and Play games, colouring in sheets: https://linktr.ee/Iamasupersapien). Please get your kids to take these resources to school!!
We created Super Sapiens: A Card Game to Help Change The World after we had difficulty finding games that allowed our Brown dual heritage daughter to see people who looked like her. Super Sapiens has a conscious supply chain that ensures high environmental and working conditions (e.g. UK based family run card printing company, games not plastic wrapped, FSC certified). We use Black service providers wherever possible with 80% of our supply chain made of Black businesses and consultants. The incredible artwork is by artist David Tshabalala and the brilliant design is by Danii Kedik.
Super Sapiens donates games to schools and 75% of profits will be given to organisations led by the Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC). Donations are specifically made to BIPOC led organisations as symbolic reparations for restitution and recompense for the continuing legacies of the crimes of chattel enslavement, colonialism, racial segregation, neo-colonialism, indigenous dispossession, and racist policies.

We have worked with The Conscious Kid @theconsciouskid to try to ensure the game is inclusive, equitable and promotes positive racial identities. For every visual representation and description of the Black, Indigenous and Women of Colour on the cards we have either obtained permission and guidance from the woman, her descendants, or where this is not possible 3-7 people who share the same identity.
