Maxi Starfish Necklace
Made from recycled sterling sliver, the maxi starfish necklace is cast from a real starfish found washed up on my local beach.
It comes on a chunky belcher chain in various lengths, though I suggest 24″.
This is a gorgeous, beautifully textured, statement piece.
The Sunday Studio jewellery (originally P&J Jewellery) is all handcrafted by myself, Olivia, at my home in Cleethorpes. In 2016 after mental health struggles, I started making jewellery. I had to suspend my place at university studying fashion promotion and additionally was unable to work. I had always been creative and had studied media, photography and textiles at college. Jewellery making felt like a natural progression. I have always looked at things with the view of wanting to know how it is made, and often challenged myself to make it. This mind set helped me teach myself how to work with silver and consequently design my own collection of jewellery.
I had fallen in love with jewellery making. When it came to returning to university to resume studying fashion promotion, I decided to give up my space. The fashion industry with the surge in fast fashion, wasn’t for me. Instead I wanted to create sustainable, timeless pieces that will be treasured forever.
I make my jewellery from my studio at home in Cleethorpes with the help of my studio assistant, my dog Mable.
It is important to me that my business doesn’t have any negative impact on our environment, therefore all my jewellery is sustainably made using recycled silver, as well as using only recyclable and bio-degradable packaging. I recycle as much of the studio’s waste as possible and try to keep my plastic pollution to a minimum.
The same two hands design, make, assemble and finally finish each piece of jewellery. Quality is incredibly important to me, so each piece is made with the upmost care.
I believe in supporting small businesses and independent makers and designers in any way that I can. Shop small and support your local high street where you can.
